Successes and Updates

Successes and Updates

We have a lot to report since our last update. Founder and Director of Khusi Hona, Matthew van Rooyen recently returned to the U.S. after a long stay in India and Nepal. Matthew had this to say; “I am so blessed and happy to be back to visit my family and friends, and am equally excited to have watched the impact and growth of the organization on the ground in South Asia over the last year”

Feel Happy Ambassador Melissa Morgan has been volunteering in Nepal and India. Melissa comes from Tampa, Florida and is working with Khusi Hona implementing art and activity workshops for the kids at several of the homes under our support network. Please take a moment to read a blog by Melissa about her first 10 days in Asia and her experience of getting there. You can read of her experience here.

We have also recently hosted Feel Happy Ambassador Leona Toussaint visiting from Gauteng, South Africa. Leona is visiting several of the organizations under the Khusi Hona network so she can personally experience the smiles and stories of the children we support. Leona plans to implement a local support and volunteer recruitment chapter in South Africa.

We have had the pleasure of recently funding several projects across India including a bore well water pump for Jagriti Orphanage in Jaipur, winter thermals for over 120 kids in Dehradun, propane cooking fuel for Kripasaran in Darjeeling, education fees for Guria in Varanasi and medical expenses for a broken arm at CCH in Andhra Pradesh.

A big thanks to all our ambassadors and volunteers for organizing and managing our Feel Happy for a Cause event last month. We would also to like to thank Feel Happy ambassadors Missy Steward in Mississippi and Annie Keeping in the United Kingdom for organizing their successful grassroots events in their communities. Are you interested in throwing an event in your area? Please send us a message here if you are.

Please be sure to check out our latest Weekly Feature. Each week we post a new cause to be sponsored, this innovative crowd funding platform sees 100% of the donations go directly from your pocket to those who need it most. Again a BIG thank you to all of our supporters, volunteers, ambassadors and partners – we couldn’t make all this impact without you!
